Preliminary Bulgarian National Bank figures show that foreign direct investment in Bulgaria totalled EUR 1.467 billion between January and November last year, a year-on-year increase of 20.6%, according to statistics on the central bank's website. The Netherlands remains by far the largest investor country in Bulgaria, with net investment inflows of EUR 681 million, followed by Germany with EUR 187.9 million. Investment during the period represented 3.3% of GDP; in the previous year, 2014, FDI represented 2.8% of GDP, or EUR 1.216 billion.
