broadband in Europe

Bulgaria has overtaken South Korea as ‘the country with the highest broadband adoption rate, at 96%’, according to a report by leading global cloud-services provider Akamai. ‘Bulgaria recorded a year-on-year increase of 180% and doubled’; Romania also grew by 158%, while world leader South Korea recorded an increase of only 11%, according to Akamai’s figures. At the same time, the country lags behind in high-speed broadband connectivity above 10 Mbps, ranking ninth.

The availability of broadband and ease of access to it are essential for promoting business and attracting corporate investment to Bulgaria.
