The World Bank has significantly raised its expectations for Bulgaria's economic growth for the past year, 2016, and the following two years, 2017 and 2018.

“The country's GDP is forecast to grow by 3.5% in 2017, 1.3 percentage points above the organisation's previous forecast in June. The estimated growth of the Bulgarian economy this year has also been raised by half a percentage point.

In its regular “Global Economic Prospects” report, the World Bank places Bulgaria in several groups of countries, noting that the expected economic growth of our country last year and this year is above the average forecast for those groups.

Bulgaria's GDP is growing strongly; the same cannot be said of the outlook for Italian GDP, which shows no prospect of improvement in the short term.
