Bulgaria's deficit lower than expected — image from the original site

The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria stated that the government deficit for 2015 would be approximately 2.66% of GDP, a reduction of 0.7–0.8% compared with the deficit projected in the economic planning document.

The strengthening of the macroeconomic framework and the good performance of foreign investment contributed to GDP growth and a reduction in the planned public deficit.

Reducing the deficit is important to contain Bulgaria's public debt, which remains among the lowest in the European Union and is a strategic strength for economic stability, allowing entrepreneurs to invest through their companies in Bulgaria while avoiding the risk of sovereign default.
