Outsourcing means assigning internal processes, tasks or projects to external service providers. Businesses choose outsourcing to make processes more efficient, save time or draw on the strengths of specialists in third-party companies.
This business practice is generally regarded as beneficial, at least in intention, and is a means of implementing strategic management of business processes.
Outsourcing, a contraction of ‘outside resourcing’, can be defined as the process whereby companies entrust external suppliers on an ongoing basis, for a contractually defined period, with the operational management of one or more functions previously performed internally, potentially transferring an entire business area. Any business may have an interest in outsourcing one or more of its processes.
Outsourcing may also be combined with the internationalisation of a business seeking to grow in a globalised and highly competitive environment.
In a complex macroeconomic environment such as Europe's, and Italy's in particular, streamlining business production processes is essential to compete both in a company's existing market and when entering new markets.
Against this background of constant development, Bulgaria presents itself within the European Union as the best strategic choice for business outsourcing.
Bulgaria has many strengths that have been recognised by the major European and American multinationals that have invested in outsourcing there.
The various types of outsourcing can be distinguished according to their scope, namely:
Simple supply, corresponding to the straightforward provision of an outsourced service (payroll and staff contributions, gardening, etc.); service, formerly referred to specifically as outsourcing, covering the provision of IT systems, canteens or meals, etc.; complex services or business units, usually called facility management, covering buildings and related services for a fixed periodic fee. These may also be paid upon achievement of specified objectives, in which case they are called global service, and may combine several business functions. Service arrangements provide equipment and everything required in consumables and routine and extraordinary maintenance to deliver the service; a typical example is supplying analytical laboratory equipment to a hospital. Process outsourcing, also known as managed service provision, supplies everything required to perform a process, such as equipment, tools and furniture, adaptation works on buildings and systems, consumables and services (staff supply, maintenance, insurance, consultancy, etc.).
According to major market leaders, Bulgaria represents the best strategic choice in Europe for IT.
Outsourcing, one of Bulgaria’s fastest-growing and most dynamic sectors, brings innovation, new business models and previously unfamiliar professions. Investors, consultants and legal advisers, construction companies and those seeking human capital are working to find the right answers to growing needs and demands.
